The IRS October 15th, 2026 deadline is the final date for individuals who filed a Form 4868 extension to submit their federal income tax return for 2025. While this extension allows extra time to file, any taxes owed were still due by the original April 15th, 2026 deadline, and failing to pay by then may incur penalties and interest.
